Shlomo Izre'el
Shlomo Izre'el ( Hebrew שלמה יזרעאל; * 1949 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli Semitist and ancient orientalist and professor of Hebrew and Semitic languages at Tel Aviv University .
Life
Izre'el studied Hebrew and Semitic Linguistics from 1971 to 1976 at Tel Aviv University. In 1984 he received his PhD and in 1988 and 1991/1992 he conducted research as a visiting scholar at Harvard University . From 1996 to 2000 he was the editor of the journal "Israel Oriental Studies". His main research interests include the school texts from Tell el-Amarna , Akkadian metrics and Israeli Hebrew .
