The Shoshone Ice Caves are ice caves in Lincoln County in the US state of Idaho .

The caves are located in northern Lincoln County about 30 kilometers north of County Seat Shoshone in the Black Butte Crater Lava Field on the southeast slope of Black Butte near State Highway ID 75 at an altitude of about 1,400 meters.

The ice caves are hollow underground lava tubes that are cold enough even during the summer that the ice in them remains frozen. The largest of them is open to visitors from May to September. It lies about 30 meters below the surface at an altitude of about 1370 meters, is about 500 meters long, 15 meters wide and 14 meters high. The ground is covered by a layer of ice 2.5 to 9 meters thick. The temperature is between −5 and +0.5 ° C all year round.
