The Shred-it International Incorporation is a service company based in the Canadian Oakville and is regarded as the largest provider of document and data destruction worldwide. The company has around 170 branches on all continents and is part of the US Stericycle Inc.
history
In 1987 Greg Brophy founded a document shredding company in Oakville, Ontario, Canada under the name Shred-it International GP Inc. In the following years the company expanded in the United States and nine other countries such as South Africa, Belgium, England and China.
In 2014 the company merged with Cintas Document Shredding, based in Cincinnati , Ohio, and from then on operated under the name Shred-it International Incorporation.
In 2015, the US waste disposal company Stericycle Inc. took over the company for 2.3 billion US dollars.

Shred-it International Inc. is a non-listed stock corporation and has around 170 branches with various subsidiaries in 18 countries on all continents. The company specializes in privacy-compliant destruction of documents , files and disks , and is it, by its own account, as the largest companies worldwide. The parent company is the US disposal group Stericycle Inc.
The German branch is Shred-it GmbH, based in Munich . It is a 100% subsidiary of the Dutch Stericycle Netherlands Holding BV
