Sian Clifford

Sian Clifford (born April 7, 1982 in London ) is a British film, television and theater actress . She gained fame primarily through the role of Claire from the Fleabag series , which earned her an Emmy nomination .

Act

Sian Clifford was born in London to a council member and assistant manager and grew up in the Ealing district . She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater . There she met her future serial colleague Phoebe Waller-Bridge . Since graduating, she has appeared regularly on theater stages in the UK and the US. Her work on stage includes works such as Beauty and the Beast , The Road to Mecca , Pains of Youth and Good Clean Fun .

Since 2012, Clifford has also been active in film and television. She had her first appearances in the TV productions The Dark Side of Science and Inspector Barnaby . After a few appearances in short films, she was seen as Martha Crawley in the miniseries Vanity Fair in 2018 .

As early as 2016, she was cast in the dramedy series Fleabag , by and with her friend Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Claire in a leading role. She embodies the sister of the eponymous character. For her performance in the second season she was nominated for an Emmy in the category Best Supporting Actress - Comedy Series.

Personal

Clifford is vegan and meditates daily. In 2016 she founded the digital wellness and meditation platform Still Space .
