Weihenstephan viewing garden
The Weihenstephan viewing garden is a teaching and experimental garden in the Weihenstephan district of Freising .

The garden, founded by Richard Hansen in 1947 , covers an area of over 5 hectares . In the public teaching and experimental garden extensive are perennials - and wood assortments and Rose innovations tested on their practical value in gardens and green areas ( spotted ). In addition to the abundance of flowers , stability and other optical properties, the resistance of the individual varieties to diseases and pests plays an essential role. Furthermore, the site-appropriate use of perennials in aesthetically pleasing combinations is shown.
In the center of the garden you can see predominantly bedding perennial assortments and decorative borders . On the south-sloping slope there are steppe heather-like plantations, rock gardens , a pond and a system for marsh and water plants . The edge areas are bordered by woods with a species-rich undergrowth of bushes.
The viewing garden is part of the Weihenstephan Gardens of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences .
