Sidney Boyden (born April 4, 1900 in Cumberland , Wisconsin , † April 8, 1993 ) was an American entrepreneur.

Career

Boyden is considered to be the first “headhunter” to approach executives directly ( executive search ). After working for Booz Allen Hamilton , he founded the personnel consultancy in New York in 1946 , which is now called Boyden World Corporation and one of the most important companies of the "Big Five" ( Heidrick & Struggles , Korn / Ferry , Russell Reynolds, Spencer Stuart, Ray & Berndtson ) heard. Unlike z. B. Korn / Ferry and Heidrick, Boyden is a so-called “network firm”, which means that in every country there are economically and legally independent companies that are allowed to use the name “Boyden” for a license fee. In Germany, the network is represented by two independent companies - Boyden Executive Search and Boyden Interim Management. In 2008, a separate location was established in Vienna, which has grown steadily since then and has successfully established itself on the market.
