Sidney Herbert, 16th Earl of Pembroke
Sidney Charles Herbert, 16th Earl of Pembroke, 13th Earl of Montgomery (born January 9, 1906 , † March 16, 1969 ) was a British nobleman .
He was the son of Reginald Herbert, 15th Earl of Pembroke, 12th Earl of Montgomery , and his wife Beatrice Eleanor Paget. He was educated at Eton College and Pembroke College , Oxford.
On July 27, 1936, he married Lady Mary Dorothea Hope (1903-1995), daughter of John Hope, 1st Marquess of Linlithgow . He has two children with her:
- Diana Herbert (* 1937)
- Henry Herbert, 17th Earl of Pembroke, 14th Earl of Montgomery (1939–2003)
When his father died in 1960, he inherited his title of nobility, including the associated seat in the House of Lords and the family-owned lands around the Wilton House estate .
He died in 1969 and was inherited by his son Henry.
