Sieben Pfoten für Penny is a book series for young people by Thomas Brezina that has been published by Ravensburger Verlag since 1994 . The series is about Penny Moosburger , the daughter of a veterinarian from Salzburg and her two dogs Milli , a Tibetan temple dog and Robin , a Bernese mountain dog. In the books, Penny has all kinds of adventures with different animals and adults who do not always handle the animals carefully. But she also makes her first experiences in love. So far 37 volumes, two special volumes and a double volume book with about 160 pages each have been published. There is also a series of radio plays that now comprises fourteen sound carriers.

• Penny Moosburger , whose full name is Penelope, is a fourteen-year-old blonde girl whose favorite sport is horse riding . She is a committed animal rights activist and lovingly takes care of the many animals that are accepted into the vet family. In doing so, she repeatedly comes into conflict with adults who do not mean well with animals. Penny has four different diaries: In the red one she writes things that make her angry, in the pink one she writes her feelings, in the blue one the sad things and the beautiful ones in a green diary.
• Matthias Moosburger is Penny's father and a veterinarian by profession. He is 45 years old and likes to take care of abandoned and tortured animals and can sometimes ignore it if his daughter breaks the rules in her animal love. But he doesn't like it when you lie to him.
• Margit Moosburger is a renowned biologist and behavioral researcher whose hobby is growing roses . She had her first child during her studies and afterwards led a gorilla project in Africa. She is the calming pole in the Moosburger family.
• Milli is a Lhasa Apso with three white and one black paw. She came to Penny as a severely injured foundling , who she nursed back to health.
• Robin is a Bernese Mountain Dog who has mastered a lot of tricks since he was trained as a movie dog. Because of this, he is often of great help to Penny in her adventures. He's only really afraid of water. But from the end of the first volume he overcomes his fear a little by saving Penny / coming to her aid.
• Columbus is Penny's sixteen year old brother . He's a crush and mostly gets on Penny's nerves.
• Romeo is nine years old and Penny's little brother. Thanks to him and his mischief there is always something going on in the family. He's a big fast food fan.
• Elvis , whose real name is Franz, is the seventeen-year-old zookeeper in Dr. Moosburger. He is Penny's friend and helps her with problems.
• Ivan is the twenty-six year old housekeeper in the Moosburger family. He's a punk and knows the city well.
