The church “Seven Sorrows of Mary” in Bad Friedrichshall is a new church of the Priestly Society of St. Pius X. from 1998 with rich historicizing equipment.

history

After the Pius Brotherhood had previously celebrated its services in Heilbronn , it took two and a half years of construction to build its own church in the Ulmenweg in Kochendorf, using the neo-Romanesque design language , which is not only used in the architecture, but above all in the interior design and painting Expression comes. The church was consecrated in February 1998 in the presence of Auxiliary Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais .

The church faces east and has the Kocherwaldstraße towards a semi-circular apse . The church has a purely historic design, with a main altar in the apse, two side altars, rich wall and ceiling paintings and a neo-Romanesque pulpit.

The service in the church is held in Latin, as is usual for the Pius Brotherhood. Since it is the only church of the Pius Brotherhood in the wider area, the church is also popular across the region.
