Barlowstrasse settlement

The Barlowstrasse settlement is a residential complex in the Englschalking district of Munich .

location

The Barlowstrasse settlement is located northwest of the Englschalking S-Bahn station. It extends along Barlowstrasse on an elongated area in a north-south orientation parallel to the S-Bahn route that borders the property in the east. Englschalking's other residential areas border to the south and west.

history

The architects Weickenmeier, Kunz und Partner were commissioned in 1999 to develop a concept for a residential area on the site of a former tree nursery . The new settlement was completed in 2003.

layout

There are 125 residential units in the Barlowstrasse housing estate . Five-story buildings parallel to the S-Bahn line protect the area from noise pollution . Small and large apartments with a share of subsidized and social housing can be found here .

Three rows of terraced houses with gardens , two full floors and one terrace floor run across and border a park to the west . On the east side of the row houses there are three-storey head buildings, which at the same time limit a square that forms the center of the quarter. There is a kindergarten in the north of the settlement .
