Siegestaler
A victory thaler is a coin with a face value of one thaler that was issued by a victorious state as a reminder of this event.
Usually, the commemorative thalers for the victory over France in 1871 in the Franco-German War are referred to as victory thalers. The following German states issued victory thalers (each with their own motif):
- Bavaria : Portrait of Ludwig II , revers Viktoria with cornucopia, edition: 150,000 copies
- Bremen : city arms, lapel inscription, edition: 61,000 copies
- Prussia : Portrait of Wilhelm I , Germania / Borussia sitting on the reverse , edition: 880,000 copies
- Saxony : Portrait of Johanns , revers winged rider, edition: 45,000 copies
- Württemberg : Portrait of Karl , reverse angel, edition: 114,000 copies
