Siegfried Egger
Siegfried Egger (born January 19, 1970 in Zell am Ziller ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and hotelier. From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .
education and profession
Egger attended elementary school in Kirchberg in Tirol between 1976 and 1980 and the local secondary school between 1980 and 1984. He then moved to the Hotel Management School Villa Blanka in Innsbruck in 1984 , which he graduated in 1987 as a qualified hotel manager. He also passed the license examination for the hospitality industry. He subsequently gained international experience and was active as head chef and gastronomic manager in his parents' business until 2003. He has been running the Hotel Alpenresidenz Adler since 2003. In addition to his job, Egger is also active as an apprentice trainer and trained as an academic tourism manager between 2001 and 2002 at the university course for tourism.
Politics and functions
Egger became chairman of the Wirtschaftsbund in Kirchberg in Tirol in 2006 and represented the ÖVP in the local council between 2009 and 2012. He is the deputy chairman of the federal training committee for tourism and in 2010 he was appointed head of the hotel industry at the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce. In 2010 he also took on the role of deputy district chairman in the Wirtschaftsbund and has been a member of the Tyrol Tourism Board since 2013. In addition, Egger is a member of the supervisory board of TVB Kitzbüheler Alpen and has been a board member of Tyrolean hiking hotels since 2003. In the 2013 state elections, he took 6th place on the ÖVP state list and subsequently moved to the Tyrolean state parliament, where he was sworn in on May 4, 2013. He is the area spokesman for tourism within the ÖVP state parliament club. He is also a member of the Committee on Legal, Community and Regional Planning Matters, a member of the Committee on Economics, Tourism and Technology and was a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Transport and Environment. In 2015 Siegfried Egger became the professional association chairman of the hotel industry in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce . Since 2015 he has been an advisory board member in the Tirol Wellness Cluster of the Tirol location agency and is involved in the coordinated cooperation between the tourism and wellness industry.
