. Siegfried II of Weimar-Orlamünde (* 1107 , † 19th March 1124 ) from the House of Askanier was from 1113 Count of Weimar Orlamünde and titular - Count Palatine of the Rhine .

Life

Siegfried was the eldest son of the Count Palatine of the Rhine and Count of Weimar-Orlamünde, Siegfried I († 1113), and Gertrud von Northeim († 1154), daughter of Margrave Heinrich von Friesland , Count in Rittigau and Eichsfeld .

After the death of his father in 1113 he inherited the paternal county Weimar-Orlamünde, while the palatinate near Rhine was usurped by Gottfried von Calw . Around 1115 his mother married Otto I von Salm for the second time , who may have initially reigned for the minor Siegfried.

Siegfried died in 1124. He was followed by his younger brother Wilhelm , who in 1126 also regained his father's palatine county near the Rhine.

progeny

He was married to Irmgard von Henneberg ("Irmengardi Hennebergica"). The marriage remained childless.
