Siegfried Thiele (Author)

Siegfried Thiele (born July 30, 1934 in Dresden ) is a German teacher, journalist and publicist.

Life

Siegfried Thiele was born the son of the emcee Willy Thiele-Koch and the Danish-born seamstress Frida Davidsen. After graduating from high school and studying pedagogy, he taught German, history and geography as a high school teacher for two decades. He has also been writing film reviews for the Saxon Latest News since the mid-1960s . He was a member of the Central Working Group for Film Clubs and a repeated mentor of the children's jury at the Goldener Spatz Festival in Gera . After the fall of the Wall in 1989, he first worked as a personnel officer in the Dresden school office. After retiring from professional life in 1992, Siegfried Thiele wrote numerous articles on cultural and local history as a freelancer for the Dresdner Neuesten Nachrichten . Since 2000 he has also been a book author and writes on the cultural and local history of Dresden. Siegfried Thiele lives in Dresden, is married to Gisela Thiele and has two grown children and four grandchildren.
