Siegfried "Siegi" Lindenmayr

Siegfried "Siegi" Lindenmayr (born March 12, 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Since 2003 he has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

education and profession

Siegi Lindenmayr attended elementary school between 1962 and 1966 and then went to a high school in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus for four years . In 1970 he switched to the HTL Vienna I, specializing in electrical engineering, where he graduated in 1976. He then studied electrical engineering until 1979, completed his military service in a telecommunications regiment in 1980 and studied business IT between 1980 and 1982. However, both of his studies remained without a degree.

Lindenmayr worked in various social professions between 1976 and 1983 ( meals on wheels , youth center) and between 1983 and 1997 was district secretary of the SPÖ- Alsergrund . From 1997 to 2009 he was the deputy club director of the SPÖ town hall club and association secretary, and from 2009 to 2010 he was the club chairman of the SPÖ in the Vienna town hall.

politics

Siegi Lindenmayr has been working in the SPÖ since 1979. He has been an education functionary since 1981, was chairman of the Socialist Youth Alsergrund in 1981 and 1984 and has been deputy district chairman of the SPÖ-Alsergrund since 1997.

Lindenmayr held several mandates and public offices. He was a district councilor in Alsergrund from 1985 to 2003 and represented his party on the building committee and the transport commission, among other things. He was also deputy district mayor and chairman of the district traffic commission from 1995 to 2003. Lindenmayr has been a member of the Vienna state parliament and local council since 2003. Here, too, he is active in the transport committee.

On March 11, 2019, Peter Hacker succeeded him as district chairman of the SPÖ Alsergrund.
