Sieglinde Ehard

Sieglinde Georgine Ehard (* 1916 ; † November 22, 2008 ; born Sieglinde Odörfer ) was a Bavarian ministerial official. She was the second wife of the Bavarian Prime Minister Hans Ehard (1887–1980) from August 1960 to December 1962 First Lady of the Free State.

Career

Odörfer comes from an old Munich family. She attended St.-Anna-Gymnasium in the Lehel district , where she passed her school-leaving examination with a grade of 1.0. She then studied German, English and history for teaching at the University of Munich and graduated with honors. In 1939 she received her doctorate in Dr. phil. At first she worked as a high school teacher.

After the end of the Second World War she was brought to the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs by the US military government because of her knowledge of the English language . She later became a state parliament clerk, where she met her future husband, Hans Ehard. Three years after the death of his first wife Annelore , they married in August 1960. She worked as a ministerial advisor until she retired.

Ehard spent her twilight years in a senior citizens' residence in Seeshaupt . Her grave is in the Munich forest cemetery .
