Sieglinde Prell

Sieglinde Prell (born February 18, 1953 ) is a former German table tennis player . She took part in the 1969 World Cup.

Career

Prell's talent for table tennis was discovered and promoted by Hans Natterer, the co-founder of the VSC 1862 Donauwörth association , to which Prell belonged from then on. In 1968 she won the singles title at the Bavarian Youth Championships, two years later in doubles with Petra Gassong. In 1968/69 she was second in doubles with Petra Gassong and second in mixed with R.Sitzmann at the German Youth Championships, a year later she won doubles with Monika Kneip . In 1969 she reached all the finals at the adult championships in Bavaria . In this competition she won a total of 10 titles by 1973. In mixed with Martin Ness , she won the South German Championships in 1970 and 1972 and in 1971 with Heidi Müller in doubles. With the same partner, she had already reached the double semi-finals at the national German championships in 1969 .

1969 Prell was nominated for the individual competitions of the world championship . In the singles she prevailed against Nadia EL-Hady (Egypt) and then lost to Veronique Van der Laan from the Netherlands. The double with Edit Buchholz failed after a bye to Asta Godrajtite / Petra Stephan (USSR / GDR).

With the women's team of VSC 1862 Donauwörth, Prell rose in 1973 as champion of the Oberliga Süd in the then two-part Bundesliga . In 1975 she ended her career as a competitive athlete.
