Siegmund Friedrich Gehres

Siegmund Friedrich Gehres (born September 25, 1760 in Pforzheim ; † July 4, 1837 in Grötzingen (Karlsruhe) ) was a Baden civil servant and author of historical works.

Life

Gehres initially worked as a clerk in Pforzheim and Durlach , then from 1803 in the Baden state administration as chancellery, secretary and auditor, most recently as an auditor for the finance ministry. From 1792 he published a number of compilatory city chronicles, including one on his hometown Pforzheim.
