Star Beer

The Sierra Leone Brewery ( Limited ) is the only brewery in Sierra Leone, West Africa . It is located in Wellington , a suburb of Freetown . The foundation stone for the building was laid on November 23, 1962.

The civil war in Sierra Leone in the 1990s led to a halt in production and the 2014 Ebola epidemic to a decline in the demand for beer.

The brewery (as of 2012) is 83.1 percent owned by Heineken , which was also involved in the construction.
