The Sierra de Juarez is a Mexican mountain range in the north of the country. The mountain range, which extends in north-south direction, has an area of ​​approx. 1700 km² and rises at its highest point to 1794  m .

The Sierra de Juárez is part of the Peninsular Ranges , a 1500 km long mountain range on the American Pacific coast, which extends from southern California in the USA to the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. The Sierra de Juárez is located in the north of the Mexican state of Baja California , named after the peninsula . In the north it extends to the border with the USA, behind which the Laguna Mountains begin, in the south it merges into the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir . The Sonoran Desert extends east of the mountain range . The highest point of the Sierra de Juarez is the Cerro Torre Blanco with 1794 m.

Flora and fauna

The National Park Constitución de 1857 extends at the higher altitudes of the Sierra de Juárez, about 70 km east of Ensenada . Founded in 1962, the approximately 5000 hectare park is named after the Federal Constitution of the United States of Mexico from 1857 .
