The Sierra del Barbanza , or Serra da Barbanza (Galician) is a mountain range in north-western Spain that extends from Noia in Galicia in a south-westerly direction to Ribeira .
geography
The mountain range of the Sierra del Barbanza forms a peninsula between two rias , the Ría de Muros y Noya in the north and the Ría de Arosa in the south. Due to the relative height of over 600 m above sea level and the proximity to the sea, the Sierra del Barbanza forms a prominent mountain range.
The highest peaks are Monte Iroite (685 m), Pico Murralla (658 m), Torre de Inxerto (654 m) and Monte Curota (618).
Flora and fauna
Pine trees and gorse can be found on the Sierra .
The Sierra del Barbanza is known for populations of wild horses and the Iberian wolf .
