Sierras Pampeanas
With Sierras Pampeanas a series of mountain ranges in central and western refers to Argentina , not to the Andes belong. Almost without exception, they stretch in a north-south direction and form their own climatic zone with dry winters and humid summers.

- the Sierras de Córdoba

- the Sierra de Aconquija in the provinces of Tucumán and Catamarca
- a little out of the way, namely in the province of Buenos Aires , also the Sierra de la Ventana and the Sierra de Tandil .
The highest point of the Sierras Pampeanas is the Nevado de Famatina in the province of La Rioja with 6250 meters, but most of the Sierras only bring it to heights below 4000 meters.
The name has also become common for a region in western central Argentina in which several of these mountain ranges are located. This region includes the west of the Province of Cordoba , the north of the Province of San Luis and the east of the Provinces of San Juan , La Rioja and Catamarca .
