Sigara böreği ( Turkish , for example “cigarette” or “cigar strudel”) are filled and deep-fried dough rolls as thick as a finger in Turkish cuisine , which are eaten as a starter or as a small snack.

To prepare it, brine cheese is first mixed with herbs and spices such as parsley , dill , mint and hot paprika powder . About 1 teaspoon of this filling is spread over the short end of the triangular Yufka dough sheets. The dough is wrapped on both sides and finally rolled up in such a way that roughly finger-thick, cigar-like, about 15 centimeters long rolls are formed. These are fried or baked in vegetable oil and served warm. There are also other fillings, for example based on boiled potatoes and diced tomatoes, as well as seasoned, previously fried minced meat .

Sigara böreği are usually eaten out of hand. Possible side dishes are parsley, rocket , peppers, cacık and the like. Prepared Sigara böreği for ready-to-bake are available in Turkish grocery stores, ready-made Sigara böreği are available in Turkish restaurants.
