Sigismund Paul Hiepe

Sigismund Paul Hiepe (born August 17, 1770 in Wetzlar , † 1845 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German lawyer and politician. In 1834 he was the junior mayor of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Life

Sigismund Paul Hiepe came from a family of pharmacists in Wetzlar. He studied law at the universities of Marburg (from October 25, 1789) and Göttingen (from May 8, 1791). He completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. jur. in Göttingen. After completing his studies, Hiepe became an advocate for the Reich Chamber of Commerce and joined the non-profit society in Wetzlar from 1799. He later moved to Frankfurt am Main and was there from 1816 to 1825 joint adviser to the charitable foundations.

In 1825 Hiepe became a senator . In 1834 he became the junior mayor and in 1836 rose to the first bank in the Senate and became Schöff. In 1838 he became a syndic of the free city of Frankfurt.

Hiepe had been a Freemason since 1800 .
