Sigitas Valančius
Sigitas Valančius (* 1957 in Priekulė , now Klaipėda Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian education manager and politician , former head of a university and deputy mayor of Marijampolė .
Life
From 1964 to 1972 he studied at the school in his hometown Priekulė near the Baltic Sea port city of Klaipėda . After graduating from high school in 1975 at the 2nd Kapsukas Middle School, Sigitas Valančius graduated from 1975 to 1980 with a degree in mechanics at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija near Kaunas and became an engineer . In 1999 he also completed his master's degree in education there.
From 1980 to 1984 he taught at the Kapsukas sovchos - technical center . From 1984 to 1987 he worked in the union. From 1987 to 1992 he was the deputy director of the Marijampolė Technical Center . From 1992 to 2000 he was the director of the Marijampolė Agricultural School . From 2001 to 2011 he was director of the Marijampolė College .
Since 2000 he has been a member of the Marijampolė City Council. From 2011 to 2015 he was Vice Mayor . From 2015 to 2017 he was in charge of the administration of the Marijampolė municipality .
He is a member of the LSDP .
