Sigmund Wölfl

Sigmund Wölfl is a former German soccer player who was active for FC Bayern Munich .

Career

Wölfl completed two seasons as a defender for FC Bayern Munich in the top German league at the time, the Oberliga Süd . In its premier season 1949/50 he was only used on May 18, 1950 (30th matchday) in the 2: 4 defeat in the home game against 1. FC Nürnberg ; so also in the following season , when he played with his team at Eintracht Frankfurt on September 24, 1950 (5th matchday) . In the 47th minute he lay there, his face contorted with pain. His attempts to get up again failed. He had to be carried from the square on the stretcher. Shortly afterwards, when the score was 1-0, the Frankfurters were awarded a hand penalty, which Alfred Pfaff converted to 2-0. Due to the lack of Wölfl, Bayern were outnumbered and ultimately lost 4-1, although Rudolf Scholz scored the 1: 2 in the 64th minute.
