Signature model
With a signature model is a musical instrument or instruments accessories, marketed under the name of a particular musician on the market and as it were his signature (Engl. Signature ) bears.
Such instruments are often designed according to the musician's special wishes and specifications as part of an endorsement contract. One example is Steve Vai's JEM guitar , which Ibanez has been building since 1987 .
In addition, there are faithful replicas of instruments that are associated with a well-known musician, either because they were mainly used by him or because he played them at a certain occasion (concert, recordings, etc.). In such copies sometimes attempt to emulate all signs of wear, as in the Stratocaster of Rory Gallagher .
There are also signature models of electric basses (e.g. Paul Gray's signature instrument ) or drums ( e.g. Ian Paice's drum kit ). Signature accessories include drumsticks from Tré Cool and picks from Paul Gilbert .
