Sigrid Althoff (* in Gummersbach ) is a German pianist .
Life
Sigrid Althoff grew up in Gummersbach. She attended the Wüllenweber grammar school in Bergneustadt , where she had music lessons from August Wilhelm Welp.
The pianist, who lives in Dortmund, began her artistic career with early success in national competitions. She studied at the Cologne University of Music with Pavel Gililov . This was followed by postgraduate studies in "piano" and "piano chamber music " at the Freiburg University of Music with Elza Kolodin and Helmuth Barth .
Sigrid Althoff took master classes with Adam Harasiewicz , Edith Picht-Axenfeld and Karl-Heinz Kämmerling . Boris Pergamentschikov, Andras Adorjan , Heinrich Schiff and Gotthard Popp selected Sigrid Althoff as accompanist for their university classes .
In 1982 she won the "Jugend musiziert" competition - the chamber music competition of the city of Bielefeld. Sigrid Althoff was a finalist of the German Music Competition in Bonn and lecturer at the music academies in Cologne, Dresden and Detmold. She gave concerts as a soloist a. a. with the Bergische Sinfoniker Remscheid-Solingen, the Südwestfälische Philharmonie, the Johann Strauss Orchestra Budapest, the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen, the Philharmonia Hungarica and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra.
The WDR broadcast several concerts with Sigrid Althoff; the ARD engaged her for the programs “Kein Schöne Land” and “Heimatklänge”.
Sigrid Althoff recorded a large number of CDs. The pianist is a song, choir and instrumental accompanist and has given concerts in other European countries and in many cities in Germany in halls such as B. Philharmonie Köln, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Redoute Mainz, Rosengarten Mannheim, Kurhaus Wiesbaden, Aaltotheater Essen and in numerous city theaters.
Sigrid Althoff is currently giving concerts with her partner Mariko Ashikawa in the “Dortmunder Klavierduo”, with her husband, the tenor Stefan Lex, and with the ensemble “Pomp-A-Dur” she founded. She also works as a freelancer at the Orchesterzentrum Dortmund.
Sigrid Althoff works as a pianist with the “ Gus Anton Chamber Choir Remscheid”.
