Sigrid Beer (born February 22, 1956 in Paderborn ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and has been a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2005 .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1975, she studied educational science, sociology, psychology and evangelical theology at the University of Paderborn until 1980 . She graduated in 1980 as a qualified teacher. From 1978 to 1979 she worked as a teacher, from 1980 to 1987 she worked in open child and youth work. From 1990 to 2002 she was a research assistant at the University of Paderborn and since 2002 she has been a freelance educational scientist.

Party and public office

Beer has been a member of the Greens since 1999. She was initially spokeswoman for the Paderborn City Association since 2000, and from 2002 to 2005 one of the spokespersons for the State Working Group on Education and Schools. From 2003 to 2005 she was a member of the Ostwestfalen-Lippe District Council , and since 2005 she has been a delegate of the Federal Education Association. From 1999 to 2005 she was a member of the Paderborn City Council. She has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since June 8, 2005. She has been the spokesperson for education policy and has been the parliamentary manager of her group since 2010, a member of the state board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen NRW and district chairwoman in East Westphalia-Lippe.

Private

Beer is married and has three children.
