Andrea Ursula Asch (born November 8, 1959 in Wiesbaden ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and former member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1977, she studied psychology and music at the Universities of Gießen and Marburg from 1978 to 1984 , and graduated as a psychologist . From 1986 to 1987 she worked for the Cologne Rehabilitation Association and has since been employed by the Association for Psychosocial Services in the Mettmann district .

Party and public office

She has been a member of the Greens since 1986 and was a member of the Rhineland Regional Assembly from 1989 to 2010 , and as parliamentary group leader from 1999 to 2010. From 1994 to 1999 she was deputy chairwoman of the landscape assembly and since 2004 chairwoman of the health committee. She is close to the left wing of her party.

She was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from June 8, 2005 to May 31, 2017. She was re-elected in 2010 and 2012. Asch always entered the state parliament via her party's reserve list. She did not run again in the 2017 state election.
