Sigrid Harendza

Sigrid Harendza (born August 27, 1965 in Cologne ) is an internist , nephrologist and winner of the Ars legendi award .

From 1984 to 1991 she studied human medicine at the University of Frankfurt / Main . In 1992 the doctorate took place, which was awarded the Carl Oehlemann Prize (doctoral prize of the State of Hesse). From 1993 to 1994 she received a postdoctoral fellowship from the DFG and did research at the University of California , Department of Nephrology, San Francisco, USA. Since 1995 she has been a research assistant at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf , Center for Internal Medicine, III. Medical clinic. In 2000 she passed the specialist examination for internal medicine. By way of part-time distance learning, she obtained a Master of Medical Education (MME) from the University of Bern in 2003 . In 2003 he completed his habilitation in internal medicine at the University of Hamburg . Since 2004 she has been a senior physician at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Center for Internal Medicine, III. Medical clinic. From April 2006 to March 2007 she was Vice Dean for Teaching at the Medical Faculty in Hamburg. In 2006 she received the Ars legendi Prize for excellent university teaching together with Reinhard Putz ( University of Munich ) .

Since February 2010 she has been a university professor for internal medicine as well as medical training research and development at the Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg and in 2010 she took part in the Alfred Toepfer Foundation FVS's "Teaching in high n" program. In 2015 she received a fellowship for innovations in university teaching from the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft. From 2016 to 2019 she headed the joint project ÄKHOM (Medical Competencies: Hamburg - Oldenburg - Munich) funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In 2019 she received a Hamburg Teaching Award 2018. Since 2019 she has been sponsored by the Joachim Herz Foundation, the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and the Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg for the establishment of a center for the development and testing of medical skills at the UKE.
