Sigurður Páll Jónsson

Sigurður Páll Jónsson (* 23. June 1958 in Borgarnes ) is an Icelandic politician of the Center Party , formerly the Progressive Party was a member.

Life

Sigurður Páll Jónsson is a seaman , fisherman and has been fishing with his own boat since 1989. Two men work at sea and three to four on land for the family business. Sigurður Páll lives in Stykkishólmur and is involved in various organizations there. In 2008 he founded the male choir Kári in Stykkishólmur .

After he had previously served as a deputy representative ( varaþingmaður ) for the Progress Party , he was elected to the Icelandic parliament Althing as a candidate of the Center Party for the Northwestern constituency in the parliamentary elections in Iceland in 2017 . As of August 2020, he is a member of the parliamentary committee for commercial affairs.
