Sigurd Larsen

Sigurd Larsen (* 1981 ) is a Danish architect and furniture designer who lives and works in Berlin .

Life

Larsen studied architecture at the Aarhus School of Architecture (Bachelor's degree) from 2002 and design at the Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Skoler for Arkitektur, Design og Konservering (KADK) in Copenhagen from 2006 , where he obtained a master’s degree in 2008. He worked at OMA Rem Koolhaas in New York, at the Dutch architecture firm MVRDV in Rotterdam and at COBE in Copenhagen and Berlin. Sigurd Larsen founded his office in Berlin-Kreuzberg in 2009. The work of the office combines the aesthetics of high-quality materials with concepts that focus on functionality in complex spaces. In 2016 and 2017 he completed various single-family houses in Denmark and New York as well as a number of "LoftRooms" in the Michelberger Hotel in Berlin.

From 2011 to 2016 Larsen was a research assistant at the Berlin University of the Arts . Since 2016 he has been a professor at the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
