The Kretschmer I cabinet formed the Saxon State Government from December 13, 2017 to December 20, 2019 . Like the previous government, the Tillich III cabinet , it consists of the CDU , which also provides the prime minister , and the SPD, and is legitimized by the results of the state elections in Saxony in 2014 .
In the 64th session of the 6th Saxon State Parliament on December 13, 2017, Michael Kretschmer was elected Prime Minister.
Michael Kretschmer presented and appointed his cabinet on December 18, 2017.
Due to the difficult coalition formation after the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , the Kretschmer I cabinet remained in office until December 20, 2019 after the constituent session of the state parliament on October 1, 2019.
