Regina Kraushaar

Regina Kraushaar (born April 7, 1964 in Dohna ) is a German physiotherapist , social worker and political officer . From December 2017 to December 2019 she was State Secretary in the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection . She has been President of the State Office of Saxony since March 2, 2020 .

Life

Kraushaar graduated from the medical college of the medical academy "Carl Gustav Carus" in Dresden , which she graduated in 1983 as a physiotherapist. She completed further studies in social work / social pedagogy at the Evangelical University for Social Work in Dresden in 1996 as a graduate social pedagogue (FH) . Between 1989 and 1998 she carried out various practical activities as a physiotherapist and social pedagogue, before she became the state manager of the Saxony regional association of the German Multiple Sclerosis Society in 1998 . In 1999 she took over the post of regional manager in the regional association of Saxony of the German Joint Welfare Association .

In 2006, Kraushaar became Head of the Youth and Family, Integration and Participation Department in the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection , moved to the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth on August 20, 2012 , where she succeeded Lutz Stroppe as Head of the Children and Youth Department . In March 2014 she became Head of the Care Assurance and Prevention Department at the Federal Ministry of Health .

On December 18, 2017, Regina Kraushaar was appointed State Secretary in the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection by State Minister Barbara Klepsch in the course of the formation of the cabinet ( Cabinet Kretschmer I ) of the new Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer . She became the successor to Andrea Fischer , who held this post in the Tillich III cabinet . With the formation of the Kretschmer II Cabinet on December 20, 2019, she resigned as State Secretary. On March 2, 2020, she took over the management of the State Office for Saxony .

Kraushaar is married and has two children.
