Lutz Stroppe (born October 20, 1956 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German ministerial official . From 2012 to 2014 he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and from 2014 to 2019 State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health .

Life

After graduating from the Hoffmann von Fallersleben School in Braunschweig , Stroppe studied history and political science to become a teacher in Braunschweig and Mainz. From 1985 to 1999 he worked for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung , where he headed the Bildungswerk Mainz from 1986 to 1991 and the Bildungswerk Berlin from 1991 to 1999. From 1997 to 2000 he was President of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Auslandsgesellschaft (BBAG) eV in Potsdam. From 1999 he was deputy office manager in Helmut Kohl's office . From 2001 he was head of Helmut Kohl's office. From 2006 to 2010 he was head of the “Political Programs and Analyzes” division in the CDU federal office, Konrad-Adenauer-Haus . In 2010 Lutz Stroppe moved to the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as a department head. From July 2012 to January 2014, Stroppe was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth. Since January 2014 he has worked as State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health. In April 2019, Health Minister Jens Spahn announced the transfer of Stroppe into temporary retirement on May 15, 2019. On September 1st, Stroppe started a new position at the communication and strategy consulting agency Hering Schuppener Consulting as Senior Advisor, where he uses his experience and contacts from the Ministry of Health to further develop the consulting company's strategic orientation in the field of social and health care.
