The Sikorsky S-10 was a Russian military aircraft from the first decade of the 20th century.
history
After Igor Sikorski was able to place the first successful model in the Russian military with the Sikorsky S-6 , he tried a direct further development to the S-10. The S-10 had a weaker engine and a lighter structure. In 1913, the machine was able to set numerous Russian records for range and flight time and win the military aircraft competition at the time, although its overall performance was slightly worse than that of the already existing S-6A and S-6B. Two S-10s were given a more powerful German Argus engine with 100 hp on a trial basis. A total of 16 S-10s were built.
A version with smaller wings and a two-man crew seated one behind the other was designated as the S-10A. It had a 125 hp Anzani engine and was significantly faster than the S-10. Later it was fitted with a 100 hp Gnome mono soup tape and floats. From this seaplane version six more machines were finally built.
