Silvano Agosti

Silvano Agosti (born March 23, 1938 in Brescia ) is an Italian film editor and film director .

Life

As a 1962 graduate of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (CSC), Agosti initially devoted himself to film editing , which he also studied at the State Institute in Moscow . After starting out as a director in documentary films in 1959, he was involved as an editor in numerous films from 1963 onwards, including Marco Bellocchio's With his fist in his pocket . After directing his first own feature film in 1967, which was only released in abridged form, he turned increasingly to directing as an independent filmmaker from the mid-1970s and made around 15 feature films in addition to documentaries and television productions , which are rarely seen outside of Italy were. His most famous film is probably Runaway America (1982).

From 1976 to 1978 he worked as a lecturer for film editing at the CSC.
