Silverstone International 1950

The Silverstone International 1950 , also known as the International Daily Express Trophy Meeting , was a sports car race that took place on August 26th of that year at the Silverstone Circuit . The race was not part of any racing series.

The race

Two international sports car races were held at Silverstone on August 26th. In the morning, vehicles with a displacement of more than 2 liters contested a race. Peter Walker won ahead of his brand colleague Tony Rolt . Both drove a Jaguar XK 120 each . Third was Duncan Hamilton , who fielded a Healey Silverstone.

Sports cars with a capacity of up to 2 liters entered the race in the afternoon. Here Ferrari factory driver Alberto Ascari won ahead of his team-mate Dorino Serafini .
