Teodoro "Dorino" Serafini (* July 22, 1909 in Pesaro ; † July 5, 2000 there ) was an Italian automobile and motorcycle racing driver .
Career
Dorino Serafini was a well known motorcycle racer during the 1930s. He was Italian road champion twice and won the motorcycle European championship in the 500 cc class on Gilera in 1939 .
After the Second World War he switched to four wheels and barely survived a serious accident in a Maserati at the Grand Prix du Comminges in 1947 .
At the end of 1949 he went to Ferrari , where he mainly competed in sports car races. With the Italian Grand Prix in Monza , he drove his only World Championship race during the 1950 Formula 1 season , but ended up in second place after he had to give his car to Alberto Ascari in order to give his favored compatriot a better one Allow placement. The points were shared in this process.
Serious injuries in another accident at the Mille Miglia in 1951 led to the end of his career.
