Silvia Binggeli

Silvia Binggeli (* 1977 or 1978 in Guggisberg ) is a Swiss journalist and qualified translator . From 2013 to 2019 she was editor-in-chief of the Swiss women's magazine Annabelle .

Life

Silvia Binggeli grew up in Guggisberg in the canton of Bern . After an exchange semester at the University of San Francisco , she graduated from the Interpreter School Zurich (DOZ) with a degree as a translator in 1995 and graduated from the Ringier School of Journalism from 1997 to 1998 .

Career

Binggeli worked for the women's magazine Annabelle for 20 years , the last six years as editor-in-chief. Her career there began in 1999 as a reporter , in 2005 she moved to the “Lifestyle” department, which she took over in 2011. In addition, Binggeli acted as deputy editor-in-chief from 2012 and as editor-in-chief from 2013 to 2019.

On October 1, 2019, Annabelle was sold to Aarauer Zeitschriftenverlag Media and the changeover to a new editorial model took place. The print and online editorial teams were merged and 14 of the 39 employees were laid off. After the changeover, Binggeli left the editorial team and handed over the editor-in-chief to Jacqueline Krause-Blouin.
