Silvia Kottas , also Silvia Wachsmann , (* 1949 ) is a German singer.

Life

Even as a schoolgirl she enjoyed singing, took singing lessons at a music school in Leipzig and sang in various amateur bands. After completing an apprenticeship as a commercial applicant , Horst Krüger brought her to Berlin in 1973, where she first sang in the Horst Krüger Band , from 1975 in the Gerd Michaelis Choir and then in the CANTUS Choir . Occasionally she also took on solo parts in these choirs until she decided on a solo career in 1980 and became a professional singer a year later. The General Directorate of the Committee for Entertaining Arts promoted her through a contract and the opportunity for musical training. She appeared as a guest in the Uwe Jensen program and in 1984 became a crowd favorite at the 8th Rostock song festival “People and the Sea” and received the main prize in the form of a large amber plate.
