Nadine Sierra (born May 17, 1988 in Fort Lauderdale ) is an American opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

She grew up in Fort Lauderdale and attended the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach. She then studied at the Mannes College of Music and Music Academy of the West Conservatories , where she was the youngest artist to receive the Marilyn Horne Foundation Award. At the age of 14 she became a member of the Palm Beach Opera's youth development program and made her operatic debut there two years later as Sandmann in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel .

In January 2016 she performed at the New Year's Concert in Venice with Stefano Secco and sang the role of Gilda in Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto with Leo Nucci at La Scala in Milan . At the season opening of the Paris Opera in October 2016, she sang Flavia Gemmira in Francesco Cavalli's Eliogabalo . In January 2017 she performed at the New Year's Concert in Palermo, at the Teatro Massimo , with Paolo Fanale . In January 2019 she performed at the New Year's Concert in Venice , at the Teatro La Fenice , with Francesco Meli .
