Silvia Quandt

Silvia Quandt (* 1937 in Berlin ) is the oldest child of the industrialist Herbert Quandt , from his first marriage to Ursel Münstermann (marriage in 1933, divorced in 1940, the daughter Silvia initially stayed with her mother). She lives and works as a painter and boutique owner in Munich .

Career

Silvia Quandt initially decided - in contrast to the other members of the Quandt family - against entering the business world, studied at the Munich Academy for the graphic trade (formerly "Master School for Germany's Book Printers", now merged with the Munich University of Applied Sciences ) and completed one Training as a commercial artist . From the 1960s she worked as a freelance painter. Since 1967 her works have been shown at several exhibitions, for example in Munich, Düsseldorf, Münster, Mannheim, Bremen, as well as London, Paris and Zurich. In 1968 she was awarded the Burda Prize for Fine Arts , and in 1969 the Schwabing Art Prize. Some of her works are represented in the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlung . Her paintings and prints from the 1980s are attributed to fantastic realism .

In the 1970s, when the Quandt Group was restructured by Herbert Quandt and the assets were split up, it received, as an anticipated inheritance, significant holdings of securities and a large real estate asset from her father. In the 21st century, she too began to be a financial entrepreneur. She was involved and named after Silvia Quandt & Cie., Who is active in investment and merchant banking . AG with branches in Frankfurt, London and Zurich. She was also involved in the asset management and investment company Altira AG, which has been listed on the stock exchange since February 2007 . In 2011, she left the Silvia Quandt & Cie. AG and Altira AG separately.

Silvia Quandt has one son, Golo Alexander Quandt (* 1975).
