Fort Detrick

Fort Detrick is a major U.S. military site in Frederick , Maryland . Fort Detrick is home to the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and the National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research, as well as the National Interagency Biodefense Campus in the future . From 1943 to 1969, Fort Detrick was used for biological weapons development and testing . According to official information, research into dangerous pathogens for defense purposes was subsequently carried out. There is evidence that the development and manufacture of biological weapons continued after 1969.
