Four Gate Pagoda ( Simen ta )

The Simen Pagoda or Four-Gate Pagoda ( Chinese  四门塔 , Pinyin Sìmén tǎ , English Simen Pagoda / Four-Door Pagoda ) in Jinan City , Shandong Province , China , dates from the Sui Dynasty and is the oldest preserved stone pagoda in China. It is located in today's Licheng district and belonged to the Shentong Temple ( 神通 寺 , Shéntōng sì ).

It represents the straight, rectangular type of a floor pagoda.

The pagoda has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-62) since 1961 .
