Sveen has mainly participated in the Scandinavian Cup since 2007 . He ran his first World Cup race in March 2010 in Oslo , which he finished with 31st place in the 50 km mass start. In March 2013 he got his first World Cup points with 22nd place in Oslo. He made his best World Cup race so far in December 2013 in Davos with fifth place in the 30 km freestyle. In the Scandinavian Cup he came third and second in the 2013/14 season and was 15th in the overall ranking for the season. At the Norwegian Championships in 2014 he won bronze over 15 km classic and bronze in the 50 km mass start race. In the 2014/15 season he took 35th place at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer and 13th place at the 2015 Tour de Ski . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in the relay in Lillehammer. His best placement of the season in the World Cup singles was 13th in the skiathlon in Lillehammer.
