Simo Peura

Simo Peura (born June 15, 1957 in Laukaa , Finland ) is bishop of the Lapua diocese in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland .

Life

After leaving school, Peura studied Protestant theology . In 1983 he received his ordination in Lapua . With a thesis on the theology of Martin Luther , he earned a doctorate in 1990 at the University of Helsinki and worked at the Institute for European History in Mainz. In 2004 Peura was elected Bishop of the Diocese of Lapua.
