Simon Amorosius

Simon Amorosius (* around 1550 probably in Krakow ; † after 1604 ) was a Polish composer.

All that is known about Amorosius' life is that he was a member of the court orchestra of the Polish King Sigismund III. was. Of his works, only the motet Cantabant sancti canticum has survived , which is contained in the Melodiae sacrae collection published by Wincenty Lilius in Cracow in 1604 , and which proves his high compositional art .
