Simon Blackburn
Simon Walter Blackburn (born July 12, 1944 in Chipping Sodbury ) is a British philosopher who taught in Cambridge from 2001 to 2011 . He previously held a professorship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . From 1969 to 1990 he was a fellow and lecturer at Pembroke College (Oxford) . He was the editor of Mind magazine from 1984 to 1990 . Blackburn is Vice President of the British Humanist Association .
In 2008 he was elected as an honorary foreign member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
